Omani taekwondo players bag 8 medals

Players from Oman's Pro Martial Arts And Fitness Academy recently returned from Sharjah, UAE, with a rich haul of medals after coming up with an impressive performances at the UAE Summer Junior Taekwondo Championship.

A team of ten players, under head coach Harib al Abdali, returned with eight medals, including five gold, one silver and two bronze. The eight medals also helped the team to finish overall runner-up at the event.

The gold medal winners were Abdulrahman al Jabri (U27kg), Nibras al Toqi (U30kg) , Said al Rawahi (U33kg), Abdullah al Ashkari (U41kg) and Ahmed al Jabri (U53kg).

Adam al Shibibi won the silver in the U24kg category while Yamin al Jabri (U30kg) and Leith al Abdali (U41kg) claimed bronze.

Speaking on return after the successful trip, Abdali, who is a former national team coach, said, “The performances were encouraging from the youngsters. We are now preparing for an international open competition in Manchester, UK next month and we hope to return with even better results.”
