State Council reviews draft law on aflaj sites, trademark system of GCC nations
The sixth bureau meeting of the State Council, chaired by H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, reviewed the draft law on the regulation and protection of aflaj sites that feature on the World Heritage List.
The draft law on the trademark system of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, referred by the Council of Ministers was also reviewed during Tuesday’s meeting, stated a press release. The council also discussed a memorandum of understanding between the State Council and the Senate of Pakistan, in addition to the proposal to form a parliamentary friendship committee to strengthen the existing relations between the sultanate and Pakistan.
The bureau reviewed a number of proposals submitted by the members of the council. It also reviewed a follow-up report on the implementation of the decisions taken at its previous meeting, as well as a report on the activities of the committees during the meetings, the release added.
