12% rise in passenger, vehicle traffic in first three months: NFC
The National Ferries Company’s (NFC) latest statistical bulletin revealed a 12 per cent increase in passengers and vehicles. It also saw a seven per cent increase in cargo, on board ferries by the end of the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period last year.
NFC transported 61,155 passengers in the first three months compared to 54,544 during the same period last year, stated a press release.
The total number of vehicles transported on board ferries, during the first quarter of the current year, too increased by 12 per cent to 15,750 vehicles, compared to 14,027 during the same period in 2017.
Additionally, the company transported 2,677 tonnes of goods, during the first quarter, registering an increase of seven per cent, compared to 2,512 tonnes during the same period in 2017.
