Mazoon Dairy awards contracts worth RO25mn
Mazoon Dairy, the flagship dairy project of the sultanate, has awarded three new contracts worth over RO25mn.
The contracts have been awarded to Artat, Al Adrak Trading and Contracting and Tetra Pak to commence the development of Mazoon Dairy’s technologically advanced central dairy processing plant in Buraimi.
The companies will be closely involved in design development, procurement, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance and delivery of the central processing plant building.
Dr Rashid al Masroori, chairman of Mazoon Dairy Co was present at the signing ceremony along with Dr Thomas Alexander, chief executive officer of Al Adrak Trading and Contracting, Riyadh al Omair of Artat and Mats W Andersson, project sales director of Tetra Pak, a press release said.
Al Adrak will construct the central processing plant covering an area of 50,000sqm. The facility will use the most advanced technology to meet its production capacity of up to 1mn litres per day. The contract with Al Adrak, valued at RO14.8mn, also includes developing a state-of-the-art dairy processing plant, milk reception centres, administrative offices, a control office, storage for raw materials and a facility to manufacture plastic containers.
Tetra Pak has been appointed for a RO10.5mn contract to ensure the supply and installation of all dairy processing equipment, including milk reception and storages, tanks, homogenisation and pasteurisation machines, as well as all refrigeration and other utility requirements.
Artat has been awarded a RO261,000 contract to provide livestock feed mixing equipment.
